Techno Safari Drove Off!

Techno Safari was built at a time when I was very focussed in what I was doing musically, things were uniform, life was more uniform, Techno fitting my life perfectly, the steady building beats and nothing to extreme or dramatic, just subtle and well structured.

Over the last 12 months, lifes changed, ive changed, lifes not what it once was, and im in essence rebuilding and rediscovering myself, my true self, and for the first time im taking this journey alone and taking each step for the right reasons, for me.

Its with this im closing Techno Safari as a chapter of my life and moving onto a new venture, something more varied, deeper and with more meaning and relation to the life I am now discovering and now living.

Monoloc - Nohouse, absolutely banging dark techno track on Sleaze Records.

Real dark and dirty sounds in here, not for the faint hearted, with a haunting vocal, and a sweeping progression, its got it all. Stick your headphones on, crank it up, close your eyes, and be scared.

Definitely one to bang out late for those that like to get there stomp on.

Its a wonderful day, its the British Grand Prix, its raining but I dont care, in my little world this morning the suns out and im smiling.

Im going to reflect this in my choice of music this morning, with a revisit to the wonderful Pogo, and his rendition/composition using Disney’s Alice in Wonderland.

Those that have been following me for a while will remember the Terminator piece, Skynet Syphonic, that I posted a while back, and Alice, while much brighter and cheerier in tone, is just as breathtaking.

Using nothing but samples from the movie, its a magical journey of both sound and video, and im sure you will agree it sets a great tone for a Sunday afternoon!

Perc has a unique way of expressing things, shown clearly in this track, almost demonic in nature at times, the way sounds are morphed and melded, the raw eeriness, its quite disturbing but beautiful at the same time, a delicate balance not often displayed to this level.

‘My Head is Slowly Exploding’ is a real dark and twisted journey, so brace yourself before you listen, and visually the video accompanies the sound so perfectly, its a psychologists wet dream.

Being a hater of all things apple, I never expected to come up with a reason to own an Apple product…until recently.

Theres no denying that the iPad has made some impressive advances in the DJ world, for something not originally designed for such, its quickly taking the place of many previous touch based controllers, the Jazz Mutant Lemur and Dexter instantly coming to mind.

This little video shows what can be done with a very basic setup using midi through the iPad with a TouchOSC, and im sure you will be impressed at the possibilities you could take with this.

Ok summers here, and whats summer without some epic electro house releases??!!

The legendary Herve has brought out a frickin stomper of a tune, absolutely loving this, uplifting dirty electro house at its best!! If this is setting the pace for summer releases then we are in for a damn good year for sure.

‘Together’ hit the shelves on the 10th of April so you can pick this up now  through Cheap Thrills / 3beat, complete with remixes from DJ Fresh, Steve Smart, Doorly and C.R.S.T.

Inspiration and passion are the two most important things for any artist, but this piece of work is far beyond the realms of anything I could conjure even in my wild imagination.

The titles says enough about it. Is it Techno, not quite, but its a composition I felt people need to see, albeit about as random and clinically insane as you can find on the internets.

With Round 2 coming to a close in the next couple of days, the leaderboards have pretty much settled, and running currently at the top is DJ Rasp of the UK.

Ive watched this several times over, and for a 2 minute set, I dont think you could ask for anything more. Clean, great technique, obvious passion, its an entry to be proud of and im sure its going to take him a long long way.

I wont say anything more, the set itself says more than words ever could.

Amazing what we are seeing come out of the UK through this groundbreaking competition by the DMC, keep it up!!
